Data Deletion Policy

This page explains how you can request deletion of data associated with your ShopEazzy/WhatsApp integration.

What we delete

Upon a verified request, we delete or anonymize:

  • Business & account identifiers (business name, business email, category).
  • WhatsApp/Meta identifiers we store (business_id, waba_id, phone_number_id).
  • Configuration records (webhooks, template references) held by us.
  • Support tickets and related attachments.

What we cannot delete:

  • Records held by Meta and other third parties (e.g., Twilio) in their systems. Those are governed by their policies.
  • Data we must keep for legal, security, or billing reasons. Such data is retained only as long as required and then deleted.

How to request deletion

Email

Send a request to tech@rurallink.africa from your admin email with subject "Data Deletion Request".

Verification

We may ask you to verify ownership of the WhatsApp number or your account.

Processing Time

We aim to complete deletion within 30 days of verification.

Backups

Encrypted backups roll off within 90 days; your data will disappear from backups as they age out.

Disconnecting WhatsApp

If you simply want to disconnect WhatsApp without deleting all account data, contact us or remove app access from your Meta Business settings. We'll stop processing immediately for that integration.
